Good character: On the authority of Abu Hazim, may God have mercy on him, he said: The one who suffers most from a bad-tempered person is his own soul within him, which is afflicted by him; then his wife, then his child, to the point that he enters his house while they are in joy, but they hear his voice and flee from him, in fear of him, and even his animal avoids him because of the stones he throws at it, and his dog, if it sees him, jumps on the wall, and even his cat runs away from him. [Al-Siyar (its abridgment) 1/637].

Good character: Luqman (peace be upon him) said to his son: “O my son! Let your words be kind and your face cheerful, and you will be more beloved to people than one who gives them gold and silver.” Ibn Rajab (may God have mercy on him) said: “Perhaps treating people with kind words is more beloved to them than feeding them and being generous with money.” Al-Jami’ al-Muntakhab/66. Good character: Some of the predecessors were seen in a dream, and were asked about some of their righteous brothers, and he said: Where is that? He was raised up in Paradise because of his good character. [Al-Jami’ Al-Muntakhab / 67].

Good character: Some people were asked about good character and they said: Generosity and refraining from causing harm. [Al-Jami’ Al-Muntakhab / 67].

Good character: Some of the early Muslims said: A person of good character is considered a relative by strangers, while a person of bad character is considered a stranger by his own family. [Al-Mustatraf/ 165].
