Scrupulousness: On the authority of Damrah bin Habib, may God have mercy on him, he said: Do not be impressed by the abundance of a person’s prayers or fasting, but look at his scrupulousness. Scrupulousness: Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, may God have mercy on him, was brought spoils of musk and he pinched his nose. They said: O Commander of the Faithful! You pinch your nose because of this! He said: This is only used for its scent, so I dislike smelling its scent without the Muslims. [Ibn Abi al-Dunya Encyclopedia 1/209].

Scrupulousness: On the authority of Al-Abbas bin Sahm: A righteous woman, may God have mercy on her, was informed of her husband’s death while she was kneading dough. She lifted her hands from the dough and said: This is food in which we now have a partner. [Ibn Abi Al-Dunya Encyclopedia 1/222].

Scrupulousness: On the authority of Abdullah bin Ahmad, may God have mercy on him, he said: I used to hear my father often say after the prayer: O God, just as You have protected my face from prostrating to other than You, protect it from asking other than You. [Sifat al-Safwa 2/610].

Scrupulousness: Ibn Kathir, may God have mercy on him, said: Abu Abdullah al-Asbahani, may God have mercy on him, would not buy his bread from one baker, nor his vegetables from one grocer. He would only buy from someone who did not know him. He said: I fear that they will show me favoritism, and I will be one of those who live off their religion. [Al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah 10/255].
