Advice and guidance for the scholar and the student of knowledge: On the authority of Ibn Umar, may God be pleased with them both, he said: A man does not attain a position of knowledge until he does not envy those above him, nor look down upon those below him, nor seek a price for knowledge. Advice and guidance for the scholar and student of knowledge: Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said: Whenever you tell a people something beyond the reach of their understanding, it becomes a trial for some of them. Reported by Muslim in his introduction. Al-Zuhri, may Allah have mercy on him, said: If you try to take this knowledge in great quantities at once, it overwhelms you and you gain nothing of it.
