Acting upon knowledge and conveying it: Jundub al-Bajali, may God be pleased with him, said: The example of one who preaches to people and forgets himself is like a lamp that illuminates others and burns itself. [Al-Zuhd by Imam Ahmad / 330].

Acting upon knowledge and conveying it: Mu’adh ibn Jabal, may God be pleased with him, said: “Learn whatever you wish to learn, for God will not reward you for knowledge until you act upon it.” [Al-Hilya (its abridgment) 1/185].

Acting upon knowledge and conveying it: Maymun ibn Mihran said: Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, spoke one day in the presence of a group of his brothers. His speech and admonition came out well. He looked at a man among his companions who was wiping away a tear, and stopped his tear. I said to him: Commander of the Faithful, continue speaking, for I hope Allah will bestow favor upon whoever hears it or to whom it reaches. He replied: Leave me alone. Acting upon knowledge and conveying it: On the authority of Al-Zuhri, may God have mercy on him, he said: Knowledge is taken away quickly, so spreading knowledge is the stability of religion and the world, and in the disappearance of knowledge is the disappearance of all of that.
