Acting upon knowledge and conveying it: On the authority of Malik bin Dinar, may God have mercy on him, he said: If a scholar does not act upon his knowledge, his admonition will slip from the hearts as rain slips from a smooth rock. [Al-Zuhd by Imam Ahmad / 539].

I entered one of the monasteries in the days of al-Hajjaj, and they brought out one of their books, so I looked at it, and it said: O son of Adam, why do you seek knowledge of what you do not know, and you do not act upon what you know?
