Night Prayer: On the authority of Abu Uthman al-Nahdi, he said: I stayed with Abu Hurayrah, may God be pleased with him, for seven nights. He, his wife, and his servant would divide the night into thirds, one praying, then waking the other, then praying, then waking the other. [Sifat al-Safwa 1/335].

Night Prayer: On the authority of Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, that Tamim al-Dari, may God be pleased with him, slept one night without performing the night prayer until morning, so he prayed for a year without sleeping as punishment for what he had done. [Ibn Abi al-Dunya Encyclopedia 1/273].

Night prayer: Mujahid said: When Ibn al-Zubayr, may God be pleased with him, stood up for prayer, he was like a wooden stick. He also related that Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, was like that. [Al-Siyar (its abridgment) 1/395].

Night Prayer: On the authority of Asbagh bin Zaid, he said: Uways al-Qarni, may God have mercy on him, used to say when evening came: This is the night of bowing, so he would bow until morning. And when evening came he would say: This is the night of prostration, so he would prostrate until morning. And when evening came he would give in charity whatever surplus food and clothing was in his house, then he would say: O God, do not hold me accountable for whoever dies of hunger, and do not hold me accountable for whoever dies naked. Night Prayer: Hassan bin Abi Sinan, may God have mercy on him, was asked during his illness: How are you feeling? He said: I am well if I am saved from Hellfire. He was asked: What do you desire?
