Turn to Allah, the Healer, and take practical steps
Allah alone heals and suffices. Use Quranic recitation and lawful supplication for ruqyah, trusting Him while seeking medical care. Avoid amulets, unknown words and unverified practices. Symptoms alone do not establish an evil eye, sorcery or possession, and no wording guarantees an outcome. Observe established occasions and counts without assigning unsupported numbers.
Faith, trust and beneficial steps
الله وحده هو الشافي: قال تعالى: «وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ». تعلّق به، والرقية والعلاج من الأسباب.
Allah alone heals. Quran 26:80 affirms that He heals when illness comes. Turn your heart to Him; ruqyah and treatment are means.
Lawful ruqyah contains no shirk. The Prophet ﷺ permitted ruqyah free of associating partners with Allah. Recite the Quran and understood, lawful prayers; avoid amulets, appeals to others besides Allah and unknown words.
اجمع بين الدعاء والتداوي: حث النبي ﷺ على العلاج. اطلب تقييمًا طبيًا عند الحاجة، ولا تجعل الأعراض وحدها دليلًا على العين أو السحر أو المس.
Combine prayer with treatment. The Prophet ﷺ encouraged seeking remedies. Obtain medical assessment when needed; symptoms alone are not proof of an evil eye, sorcery or possession.
Trust Allah and pursue what benefits you. The Prophet ﷺ urged seeking what is useful, asking Allah for help and not giving up. Do not let fear or others’ claims turn you away from beneficial steps.
The governing rule: ruqyah must use lawful words with understood meaning, rely upon Allah alone, and contain no talismans, invocations of jinn, unknown formulas or shirk.
The eye has an effect only by Allah’s decree. The identified person may be asked to wash in the prescribed way; accusations and superstition are forbidden.
Follow the prophetic washing procedure only when applicable.
Anas رضي الله عنه reported explicit permission for lawful ruqyah in these cases. Urgent bites, stings and infections also require immediate medical treatment.
Use lawful ruqyah together with appropriate medical care.

Allah: there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Who can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and preserving them does not weary Him. He is the Most High, the Magnificent.

Source and reported virtue
Abu Hurayrah’s report mentions protection until morning: Bukhari 2311.
They followed what the devils recited during Solomon’s reign. Solomon did not disbelieve, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and what was sent down to the two angels in Babylon, Harut and Marut. Those two taught no one without first saying: We are only a test, so do not disbelieve. Yet people learned from them what could separate a man from his wife, though they could harm no one through it except by Allah’s permission. They learned what harmed them and did not benefit them. They knew that whoever purchased it would have no share in the Hereafter. Miserable indeed was that for which they sold themselves, if only they knew.
Count and occasion
Quranic recitation; no fixed special count is established for this passage.
The Messenger believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, as do the believers. All believe in Allah, His angels, His books and His messengers: We make no distinction between any of His messengers. They say: We hear and obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, our Lord; to You is the final return. Allah burdens no soul beyond its capacity. It receives the good it earns and bears the evil it earns. Our Lord, do not hold us accountable if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, do not lay on us a burden like that which You laid on those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us and have mercy on us. You are our Protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.

Did you think that We created you without purpose and that you would not be returned to Us? Exalted is Allah, the true King. There is no deity worthy of worship except Him, Lord of the noble Throne. Say: “My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the best of those who show mercy.”

Had We made it a Quran in a foreign tongue, they would have said: Why are its verses not made clear? A foreign tongue and an Arab messenger? Say: for those who believe, it is guidance and healing. As for those who do not believe, there is deafness in their ears and it is blindness for them. It is as though they are being called from a distant place.
